Electric Vehicle Charge point Installation - Is now the time to get on board?

* Since publishing this article, there have been changes to the government grant scheme, as below*

- The EVHS scheme has been replaced by the EV Charge point grant (1.4.22).

A grant is still available for residential and commercial landlords and those residing in flats and rented accommodation. It is no longer available to general residential householders.

- The workplace charging scheme is still available for business, charities and public sector organisations. Workplace grants are available to help with installation costs (up to £350 per point).

⚡We're now an OZEV (Office for Zero Emissions) authorised charge point installer and have been busy with installations over the last couple of weeks!

Our most recent job was the install of 2 smart meter charge points at a workplace in Skelmersdale. The customer applied for an OZEV voucher worth £350 per point and got it through in 2 days. We then installed the EV unit within the week - one happy customer! The grant process was pretty straight forward for the customer.

We are able to install smart electric vehicle charging points under the government backed Electric Vehicle Home Charge Scheme (EVHS) and Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) and can assist with the grant process.

⚡ What are the benefits of owning an electric vehicle??

This is an interesting one....The reasons for ownership and switching to an electric vehicle are varied. One customer told us recently that in recent years she had wanted to make the switch for environmental reasons, to help reduce the carbon footprint. She had an EV charge point fitted at her home and is loving the convenience of home charging.

Other reasons may include low maintenance and running costs, no road tax, free charging and parking fee exemptions in some places. Many reasons and many benefits.

⚡ Will EV Chargers become the norm? Looks like they will definitely become more accessible for the average user with more workplaces investing in points as a way to reduce their carbon footprint and attract carbon conscious talent to business. Equally, as individuals move to a hybrid way of combining office and home working, home charging points also become a viable option for many.

We are ready and waiting to install, get in touch!

⚡ We can install a range of products to include Project EV, Rolec, TESLA and myenergi (zappi)....
